A plane operated by an airline tore into the tail section of a Delta Air Lines aircraft at Seattle Airport in the morning.

At 10:17 a.m. Pacific Time, a taxing Japan Airlines plane collided with the tail of a parked Delta Air Lines plane at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA).

The airport stated that the incident took place on the taxiway between S Concourse and the southern airport maintenance hangars.

No casualties were reported and there was virtually no disruption to airport operations. Photographs posted on social media show the Japan Airlines wing sliced through the Delta tail.

'The incident happened at SeaTac and another plane suddenly collided with us, cutting our tail in a rather frightening manner,' a witness shared on X.

"While in line for deicing, the tail of a Delta 737 aircraft reportedly made contact with the wing tip of another airline's aircraft," a Delta spokesperson told Wander Thoughts.

'There are no reports of any injuries to the flight crew or passengers, and we offer our apologies for the inconvenience and disruption to travel.'

The company confirmed that they are currently working on introducing new aircraft to transport passengers.
